Marrakech

So last weekend I spent 5 days in the amazing (and searingly hot) Marrakech with my friend Mattie for a mixture of serious downtime and unexpected partying. Our days were basically spent rolling in and out of the pool to escape the heat while our evenings revolved around rooftop tagines in the Medina, after-dark drinks with friends and running away from snake charmers and their alive and kicking stars. On our last day we hit the souks (just as the sun thankfully slipped behind the first clouds we'd seen since arriving) but if I'm honest I was so busy haggling I kind of forgot to get snap happy. Oops. Anyway, here are a few pics from our trip. Already planning on going back sooner rather than later....

Daytime headgear... straw cone hats provided by our hotel.

Lily pond at the Marjorelle gardens.

Sam Edelman sandals/ Zara shirt/ vintage Levi's cut-offs

Our base for the weekend.

Sundowners at La Foudouk, Medina.

Our friendly neighbourhood tortoise.

The red pool at Murano.

Guilty pleasure holiday reading-the final installment of the Hunger Games. Anyone else shocked by the ending?!

New peacock-print playsuit from Beautiful Bottoms-just as good over a bikini as it is for bed. My ever-burgeoning collection of their silk pieces is getting pretty impressive now....

Rose-filled fountains dotted throughout the gardens of our hotel.

Pretty much lived in roomy, loose-fitting basics like this tee from LNA- the only thing acceptable to throw on with denim cut offs in 40 degree desert heat. And yes, my legs are a little on the burnt side. Ouch.

Love a good star print,  especially in the sun ironically...

Shirt/Zara

YSL's stunning Majorelle gardens (just wish they weren't so busy).
